I, Ella Rozett,
taught classes on Buddhism, Christianity, and
Women in Religion at the Santa Rosa Junior College,
North of San Francisco from 1998 to 2005. I studied
Comparative Religious Studies in Germany and the
US and received my MA in Buddhist Studies with
an emphasis on Christian-Buddhist Comparative
Studies from the Graduate Theological Union in
Berkeley. I have been a public speaker on religious
issues since 1987. I lead interfaith meditation
groups in jails, recovery centers, and churches.
I'm the director of religious education (Sunday
school)at my parish. I have ministered to the
sick and the dying in hospitals and in their homes.

I'm an interfaith, bridge building kind of woman. I was born in 1961 in Germany, of Jewish descent on my mother’s and gentile ancestors on my father's side. I was baptized and confirmed in the Reformed Evangelical church, but my first spiritual passion was roused by Native American spirituality.
Since a pilgrimage to India in 1983 I reconnected with my Christian roots, but my thinking and spiritual practice have been heavily influenced by Tibetan Buddhism. Being a mystic, I found I fit better with the Catholic Church than with German style Protestantism. After years of wondering how I could join a Church that doesn't ordain women, I finally just gave in to God's calling and pulling and officially converted. I pray that God will reward me by bringing about the ordination of Catholic women priests soon!
I attend mass almost every day, spend 2-3 hours daily in some kind of spiritual practice, and fast twice a week. All this is in response to the call of Mother Mary in her apparitions in Medjugorje.
